External validation cohort from Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Mass.
There were 795 consecutive intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) admissions with symptom onset between January 1, 1998, and August 31, 2005. A total of 629 patients were eligible for analysis. The prediction model was developed based on a random subset of two thirds of the cohort and validated in the remaining one third of the cohort.
