Risico op kanker bij een niet-pluisgevoel
Huisartsen gebruiken hun niet-pluisgevoel om kanker te diagnosticeren, maar er is maar weinig bekend over de relatie van het niet-pluisgevoel met patiënten- en huisartskenmerken. 

Huisartsen hebben in vragenlijsten aangegeven wat de aanleiding was voor het gevoel, het vervolgbeleid en de verwachte diagnose. 

Huidig model is gebaseerd op de multivariabele logistische regressieanalyse van de gegevens ingevuld op de vragenlijst. Het lijkt er niet op dat de auteurs een predictiemodel ontwikkelden om klinische beslissingen te ondersteunen in de huisartspraktijk. Het model is dan ook niet beschreven met interne en/of externe validaties. Het model geeft echter wel inzicht in de kans op de diagnose kanker op basis van de karakteristieken die te grondslag liggen aan het niet-pluisgevoel van de huisarts.

Conditional information

Van de 366 gerapporteerde patiënten had 35% drie maanden later kanker als diagnose. Het model geeft inzicht in de kans op diagnose kanker op basis van de parameters die door de huisartsen zijn aangedragen als de oorzaak van het niet-pluisgevoel. 

Het model kan als leidraad gebruikt worden voor richtlijnen en opleidingsdoeleinden van nieuwe huisartsen, vooral gezien de ervaring van de huisarts een hoog voorspellende waarde had.
