Charlson Comorbidity Index
The original Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI) was based on the 1-year mortality from an inception cohort study of 604 patients admitted to a general medical centre during 1 month and tested for its ability to predict risk of in-hospital and 10-year mortality from comorbidity diseases in a second cohort of 685 patients treated for primary breast cancer.
